Assyrian New Year at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC with Dr. Sargon Donabed

Join the Assyrian Studies Association's Dr. Sargon Donabed at an event in association with The Metropolitan Museum of Art & the Institute for the Study for the Ancient World at New York University for a celebration of the Assyrian New Year.

Scheduled on March 7, 2020, the event will include an curator-led gallery tour of the Ancient Near East Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, curator-led tour of A Wonder to Behold: Craftsmanship and the Creation of Bablyon's Ishtar Gate at the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World, and lastly, a lecture by Dr. Sargon Donabed, Associate Professor of History at Roger Williams University.

The Assyrian Studies Association promotes interest in and scholarly study of Assyrians and Assyria. It provides means for the publication of scholarly research and other materials designed to promote Assyrian studies. It promotes cooperative activities and exchange of information within the field and facilitates contact between scholars and scholarly organizations.
